Layer Button

How do i add a link to a button in macromedia flash?
I am VERY new to flash....and I have some text, which i converted to a button. i tried using the getURL function like this:
on (release)
{
getURL("http://www.yahoo.co.uk", "_parent");
}
but i get these errors..:
**Error** Scene=Scene 1, layer=button, frame=126:Line 1: Mouse events are permitted only for button instances
on (release)
**Error** Symbol=Symbol 3, layer=Layer 1, frame=1:Line 1: ')' or ',' expected
getURL(http://www.yahoo.co.uk);
i have no idea what's wrong...please help!
on (release) {
getURL("url.htm", "_parent");
}
Your coding is correct. make sure you are connected to the internet because your link is to the web. When linking to another file make sure the file is in the same folder.
I would try linking to an html page within the same folder as your flash movie. This should work.
